The gathering brought together members from across the four clans of Ikwuano, emphasizing collective action for community development.
The Ikwuano Kwechiri Political Movement, under the leadership of its Convener, Comr. Rita Nnanna, yesterday held a significant gathering that brought together members and stakeholders from different clans and communities across Ikwuano Local Government Area .
The gathering was marked by a strong display of unity, political consciousness and purposeful leadership, with participants emphasizing the need for collective action towards the development of Ikwuano. The movement reflects the growing political awareness among citizens in the area, which comprises four ancient clans: Oboro, Ibere, Ariam/Usaka, and Oloko .
Among the distinguished personalities in attendance were Hon. Osinachi Nwaka, DG, MOFI, and Hon. Cokey Lordson Nwachukwu, Acting PG, IDUF Youth Wing, who shared their perspectives on leadership, politics, civic participation and community development.
In his address, Hon. Osinachi Nwaka challenged participants to see politics beyond the pursuit of political positions, stressing the importance of service, effective representation, accountability and meaningful development. He also called for greater political awareness and responsible civic participation, particularly among young people, urging citizens to understand the issues affecting their communities and become more actively involved in the democratic process.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Comr. Rita Nnanna, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Labour Party, has continued to champion grassroots mobilization and inclusive governance in Ikwuano . Hon. Cokey Lordson Nwachukwu, who also serves as Chairman of the IDU-F Youth Wing Electoral Committee, has been actively involved in youth leadership development across the local government .
The gathering further highlighted the importance of unity among the various clans and communities of Ikwuano, with a call for citizens to put collective interests above sectional considerations.
For the Ikwuano Kwechiri Political Movement, the gathering was not merely a political meeting but a renewed call for unity, responsible citizenship, political awareness and purposeful leadership.
