The Ikuku 2027 Mandate Group says records do not lie, and the people are reading them every day.
As the 2027 general elections draw closer, a political movement gathering momentum across Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency is making a compelling case for change. The Ikuku 2027 Mandate Group has thrown its weight behind Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, describing him as the leader capable of delivering purposeful representation for the constituency.
The group, in a statement, declared that the last four years have been a masterclass in missed opportunities, with voters deciding they will not reward failure with another chance in 2027. “The current representation has been below par, and the evidence is everywhere,” the statement read.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the Ikuku Hurricane—”Ikuku” meaning wind—is sweeping through ward meetings, student gatherings, women groups, and professional associations across Umuahia South, Ikwuano, and Umuahia North. The movement carries a simple message: the people deserve better, and they know who can deliver it.
Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, a former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, brings legislative intelligence to the race. His tenure as Speaker saw a legislature that moved motions into action, budgets into classrooms, and policies into hospitals. The group argues that this is the template he will bring to the federal level.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the movement is driven by grassroots energy, with youth networks, women groups, and traditional institutions coalescing around Orji’s record of inclusion and mentorship. From market women to entrepreneurs and educators, the feedback is consistent: representation must translate to access to credit, healthcare, and safety.
The group emphasized that development will be measured, not announced. Under Orji’s vision, constituency projects will have timelines, budgets, and community monitoring. Schools will get labs, health centers will get equipment, and roads will be maintained.
“Fear is now driving the incumbent camp, not performance. The panic in certain quarters is desperation. It is the sound of a political structure realizing the ground has shifted,” the group added.
