The School of General Studies (SGS), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), is set to mark the 2026 International Peace Day with a celebration focused on promoting peace, inclusion, and sustainable development.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the event, scheduled for Monday, September 21, 2026, has commenced at 10:00 a.m. at the SGS Conference Hall, Umudike, Abia State.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the programme is being organised around the theme: “Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.”
The event will feature the participation of Prof. Ursula Ngozi Akanwa, Vice-Chancellor of MOUAU, while Dr. Chiedozie Atuonwu, Acting Director of the School of General Studies, is listed as the host.
The celebration is expected to bring together members of the university community and other stakeholders to reflect on the importance of peace, tolerance, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence. According to the organisers, the initiative is aimed at encouraging individuals and communities to contribute to building a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable society.
