Abuja Residents Applaud Minister Wike for “Unprecedented” Infrastructure Drive

ABUJA – A coalition of residents from the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has commended the Minister, Nyesom Wike, for what they describe as an unprecedented pace of infrastructural development across the nation’s capital.

The group, operating under the auspices of the Cabul Network, expressed its appreciation in a letter addressed to the minister, pledging support for his leadership and the visible projects transforming the territory.

In the letter signed by the Network’s Director General, Chijioke Nwachukwu, and Secretary, Matthew Eguche, the residents stated that they had never before witnessed such a marked improvement in the quality of infrastructure.

“Under your stewardship, we have witnessed remarkable growth and progress across numerous sectors,” the letter read.

Holistic Development Across Sectors

The group highlighted the comprehensive nature of the projects, making it difficult to single out just one area of achievement.

“Where do we even begin to acknowledge the transformation? Is it in the expansion of road infrastructure, the construction of area council roads to ease housing challenges in the FCT, or the development of railway stations? All these and more continue to empower and uplift the residents,” they stated.

In a show of solidarity, the coalition also condemned the minister’s critics and urged him to remain focused on his development agenda. They pledged their full support and loyalty to his administration, expressing confidence that with presidential backing, the FCT would “continue to reach new heights of development.”

The group revealed that its network is primarily composed of former youth corps members who served in the FCT between 1998 and 2000, giving them a long-term perspective on the territory’s development trajectory.
