Chinedum Orji Visits Ikwuano APC Stakeholders, Seeks Support for House of Reps Bid

The former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, has paid a consultative visit to APC stakeholders in Ikwuano Local Government Area to seek their support for his bid to represent Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The visit, which took place at a central location in Ikwuano, brought together party executives, ward leaders, and key stakeholders who received the former Speaker warmly. The meeting is part of Orji’s ongoing consultations across the federal constituency as he formally positions himself for the 2027 election.

In his address, Orji recounted his legislative achievements as Speaker, including the passage of over 17 impactful bills, the domestication of the Nigerian Diaspora Act (making Abia the first state to do so), and the successful advocacy for fiscal autonomy for the judiciary and legislature. He pledged to bring the same “Direct Touch” approach to the National Assembly, focusing on infrastructure, youth empowerment, and federal presence.

Orji made known to the party stakeholders that he should be considered the best among the aspirants. He also commended them and pleaded that if sent to represent the constituency, he will offer quality representation and leadership that will create great impact, both human and infrastructural development.

The stakeholders commended Orji for his humility and track record, assuring him of their support. They noted that his experience and grassroots connection make him a strong candidate for the constituency.

The visit is part of a broader consultation across the three LGAs that make up the federal constituency.
