KEBBI – Security forces have launched a massive joint rescue operation following Tuesday’s attack on a school in Kebbi State where 25 students were abducted and one pupil killed by armed bandits.

The police and military operation, involving ground troops and aerial surveillance, aims to track the kidnappers and secure the safe return of the abducted students.

Kebbi State Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Kabir, confirmed that security forces are “pursuing all leads and using every available resource” to locate the students and bring them to safety.

“We have deployed additional personnel and are working closely with local communities to gather intelligence on the movement of the bandits,” the Commissioner stated.

The military has established a command post near the attack site to coordinate the rescue efforts, with troops conducting combing operations in surrounding forests and remote areas where the bandits are believed to be hiding.

Local vigilante groups have joined the search operation, providing critical intelligence about possible routes taken by the attackers.

The state government has appealed for public cooperation and urged residents to report any suspicious activities to security agencies immediately.
