The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has praised President Bola Tinubu for what it describes as strong and stabilizing leadership in West Africa amid political and security challenges.
In a statement on Thursday, APC spokesman Seye Oladejo said Nigeria is providing crucial regional leadership under President Tinubu, strengthening diplomatic engagement and promoting stability within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Oladejo highlighted Nigeria’s firm stance in supporting democracy and opposing unconstitutional government takeovers, noting that the President’s interventions have helped reopen dialogue channels in troubled nations. He also commended the strengthening of the ECOWAS Standby Force and Nigeria’s role in leading security cooperation and counterterrorism efforts.
The statement pointed to the recent Senate-approved troop deployment to the Republic of Benin following a failed coup as an example of Nigeria’s active and responsible regional engagement.
