APC Convention to Showcase Party Unity, Democratic Strength – FG

ABUJA, NIGERIA – The Federal Government has hailed the upcoming national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a demonstration of the party’s unity and commitment to democratic principles.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, made the remarks during a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, ahead of the convention scheduled for this weekend. He noted that the peaceful conduct of ward, local government, and zonal congresses across the country reflected the party’s internal cohesion and respect for democratic processes.

“The APC convention will be a showcase of unity, discipline, and democratic strength. It sends a strong signal that our party remains committed to internal democracy and the rule of law,” Idris stated.

The Minister also dismissed claims of divisions within the ruling party, stating that the convention would further consolidate the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He commended President Bola Tinubu’s leadership in guiding the party through its reorganization efforts and called on all members to participate in the convention peacefully.

The APC national convention is scheduled to hold in Abuja on Saturday, March 28, where new national officers will be elected to steer the party’s affairs.
