The Abia State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken note of recent remarks credited to former Senate President, David Mark, and other leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during their mobilisation event in Umuahia .
In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by the Abia APC Caucus, the party strongly rejected what it termed the “misleading narrative” that the APC-led Federal Government lacks direction and has abandoned Nigerians to hardship .
The APC argued that Nigeria is navigating complex reforms under the bold leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at stabilising the economy, strengthening the naira, boosting local production, and creating long-term sustainability .
“These reforms, though challenging in the short term, are already laying foundations for durable growth,” the statement read .
The party reminded Nigerians that economic transformation is not achieved through rhetoric at political rallies but through difficult, sometimes painful decisions that secure the nation’s future. It highlighted expanded social intervention programmes, increased revenue inflows to states, support for SMEs, and infrastructure development as evidence of progress .
On democratic fairness, the APC reaffirmed its commitment to free, fair, and credible elections, urging opposition parties to present themselves with facts, viable policy frameworks, and a track record of credible governance—not alarmist claims .
“We encourage Nigerians to critically evaluate political statements, particularly as the 2026 general elections approach,” the statement added .
The Abia APC Caucus concluded by affirming the party’s focus on delivering responsible leadership that secures prosperity, strengthens democracy, and builds a resilient Nigeria .
