The APC candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, has boldly declared that the All Progressives Congress in Abia State is more united, stronger, and more formidable than at any point in its history — describing the current atmosphere within the party as the best since APC was formed in the state in 2015.
Atuma made the confident assertion while featuring on ABN TV’s Political Perspective, where he spoke extensively about the party’s internal cohesion, primary outcomes, and readiness for the 2027 general elections.
According to the former federal lawmaker, the APC successfully conducted peaceful congresses and transparent primaries that allowed aspirants across the state to test their popularity through genuinely democratic processes — a feat he described as a significant milestone for the party’s growth in Abia State.
While acknowledging that disagreements and grievances are natural outcomes of competitive party primaries, Atuma stressed that APC leaders were already implementing robust reconciliation mechanisms to heal wounds and strengthen party cohesion ahead of 2027.
He disclosed that Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, had announced the formation of a reconciliation committee specifically designed to unite aggrieved members and consolidate party strength across the state.
In a remarkably conciliatory tone, Atuma described fellow primary contestants not as enemies but as “contemporaries” — colleagues who would continue working together in pursuit of the party’s collective success in Abia State.
The senatorial candidate further argued that the arrival of many experienced and election-winning politicians into the APC fold in Abia State had significantly boosted the party’s electoral firepower, making it a far more formidable political platform heading into 2027.
Atuma expressed strong and unshakeable confidence that the APC would achieve overwhelming victories across Abia State in the forthcoming general elections — a declaration that is expected to further energise the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts across all senatorial zones and federal constituencies.
Atuma himself clinched the APC Abia Central Senatorial ticket after defeating Senator Nkechi Nwogu and Hon. Sam Onuigbo in a decisive primary exercise.
