In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ruling party described the reports as false, misleading, and aimed at creating confusion among party members and the general public ahead of the 2027 political season.
According to the APC leadership, no official decision has been taken to cancel or nullify any validly conducted primary election in any state of the federation. The party urged members to disregard unverified reports and rely only on official communications from the party’s national secretariat.
The APC emphasized that its internal democratic processes remain guided by the constitution of the party and the Electoral Act, assuring aspirants and stakeholders that fairness and transparency would continue to guide its activities.
Party officials also warned against the spread of fake news capable of causing unnecessary tension within the party structure.
They noted that political opponents and mischief makers often exploit social media platforms to spread disinformation during election periods.
The statement reaffirmed the commitment of the party leadership to unity, discipline, and credible internal processes as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue nationwide.
Political observers believe the clarification may help calm growing speculations among party supporters and aspirants in several states who had reacted to the viral claims online.
