Blessing CEO Remains in Custody as Federal High Court Reserves Bail Ruling Till June 9 in N36m Fraud Trial

Popular social media influencer and self-styled relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, widely known as Blessing CEO, remains in custody as a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has reserved ruling on her bail application.

Justice D.I. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, June 5, 2026, reserved the ruling on her bail application until June 9, 2026, after hearing submissions from both the defence and prosecution.

The matter was subsequently adjourned until June 9 for the bail ruling and June 22, 2026, for continuation of trial.

Blessing CEO faces a two-count charge of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing, with one count alleging that between July 14 and 17, 2024, she obtained ₦36 million from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye under the false pretence of leasing a six-bedroom detached duplex located at No. 1B, Tunbosun Osobu Street, Off Kuboye Road, Lekki, Lagos — a property that did not belong to her.

During proceedings, her defence counsel urged the court to grant bail on liberal terms, arguing she poses no risk of obstructing the judicial process. The EFCC, however, opposed the application, filing a 28-paragraph counter-affidavit through its investigating officer.

An EFCC investigator who testified told the court that findings from the Lagos State Land Bureau confirmed the property belonged to a Mr. Tunbosun Osobu and not the defendant. The witness also said the petitioner had commenced renovation work on the property before Osobu allegedly appeared and ejected them.

Earlier proceedings saw the defence disclose that ₦24 million had already been refunded and requested time to resolve the outstanding balance, with the complainant said to be willing to prevail on the EFCC to drop the case if the balance was paid.

The EFCC opposed any private settlement, insisting the matter proceed to trial.

All eyes now turn to June 9, when Justice Dipeolu’s bail decision will determine whether Blessing CEO continues her trial from custody or from freedom.
