2. Youths, students protest insecurity in Maiduguri

The protesters called on the Federal Government to deploy all available resources to rescue schoolchildren abducted in Mussa and Lassa communities in Askira-Uba LGA .
3. Gunmen kill 36 in separate attacks on Plateau, Benue, Niger communities
Gunmen have killed 36 people, including nine members of the same family, in separate attacks on communities in Plateau, Benue and Niger states. The attacks, which occurred over the weekend, are the latest in a series of assaults on rural communities by armed men .
4. APC wins all chairmanship, councillorship seats in Edo LG election
The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) has declared the APC the winner of the local government election held across 192 wards and 18 local government areas. Chairman of EDSIEC said APC candidates won all the councillorship seats and the 18 chairmanship seats .
5. FG approves increase of NECO, WAEC fees to N50,000 from 2027
The Federal Ministry of Education has given approval for NECO and WAEC to increase registration fees for their SSCE to N50,000 per candidate, beginning in 2027. The increase would see NECO SSCE internal examination fee jumping from N30,000 to N50,000, while WAEC would jump from N27,000 to the same amount .
6. Troops neutralise ISWAP cameraman, uncover foreign terrorist facilitators
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised an ISWAP cameraman and recovered video recordings indicating the presence of three foreign terrorist facilitators, including a Palestinian identified as the group’s trainer and a Moroccan serving as a medical doctor for the insurgents. Capt. Muhammed Goni disclosed this in a statement on Sunday .

The suspect was arrested on July 6 during the inward clearance of passengers aboard Qatar Airways .
