Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have called for an independent investigation into the handling of the murder case involving a Lagos prince by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the groups expressed concern over the investigation, urging relevant authorities to ensure transparency, accountability, and justice in the matter. They argued that an independent review would help address public concerns and strengthen confidence in the criminal justice system.
According to the CSOs, a thorough and impartial probe is necessary to establish the facts surrounding the case and determine whether due process was followed during the investigation. They also called on law enforcement agencies to ensure that anyone found culpable is held accountable in accordance with the law.
The organisations reiterated the importance of fairness and professionalism in handling criminal investigations, noting that public confidence in law enforcement depends on transparency and adherence to due process.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the call for a probe comes amid growing public interest in the case, with stakeholders urging the authorities to ensure that justice is served without interference.
