Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced free delivery of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, to Abuja and five other states as part of efforts to strengthen fuel distribution across Nigeria.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the initiative is aimed at improving the availability of petrol, reducing distribution bottlenecks, and ensuring that marketers and consumers have easier access to the product.
According to the refinery, the free delivery arrangement is expected to enhance the efficiency of the downstream petroleum sector by reducing transportation costs for participating marketers and improving the supply chain.
Industry stakeholders believe the initiative could contribute to stabilising fuel availability in the affected areas while easing logistical challenges associated with product distribution.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) and five states are among the first beneficiaries of the programme, with expectations that the initiative may be expanded to other parts of the country.
The development comes as the Dangote Refinery continues to increase production and distribution capacity in a bid to meet domestic demand and support Nigeria’s energy security objectives.
