Deregistration Crisis: NDC Files Appeal, Moves to Serve INEC

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has filed an appeal against its deregistration, signaling its determination to challenge the decision through legal means.

Party officials confirmed that the appeal has been lodged at the appropriate court, while arrangements are underway to formally serve the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with the court processes.

According to the NDC, the appeal seeks to overturn the deregistration decision and protect the party’s constitutional right to participate in Nigeria’s democratic process. The party expressed confidence that the judiciary would give the matter fair consideration.

The move marks a new phase in the legal battle between the party and INEC, as political stakeholders continue to monitor developments closely. Legal analysts say the outcome of the appeal could have implications for the future of smaller political parties in the country.

The NDC leadership urged its members and supporters to remain calm and law-abiding while awaiting the court’s determination on the matter.

Further updates are expected as the appeal process progresses and INEC responds to the legal action.
