Ex-Ikpeazu Aide Resigns from PDP

IKWUANO, ABIA STATE — A former Senior Special Assistant to ex-Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Evangelist Freedom Onyeka Ikechiuku, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing ongoing internal crisis within the party.

In a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Oboro Ward 4 in Ikwuano Local Government Area, Ikechiuku said his decision followed careful consideration of the persistent infighting and leadership challenges affecting the party.

He noted that the situation had made it increasingly difficult for him to contribute meaningfully to the growth and ideals of the PDP.

The former aide expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunity to serve, particularly during his tenure under the Ikpeazu administration, describing the experience as impactful and rewarding.

Ikechiuku, an Abuja-based real estate consultant, remains a notable figure in Ikwuano politics and is widely regarded as a grassroots mobilizer with considerable local influence.

Political observers say his resignation comes at a time when internal divisions within the PDP continue to shape political alignments across Abia State.

As political activities intensify ahead of future elections, stakeholders are closely monitoring his next move, with consultations reportedly ongoing among his supporters and allies.

More details are expected as developments unfold.
