Fire Destroys Multi-Million Naira Building in Lagos Computer Village

A fire outbreak in the early hours of Tuesday destroyed a one-storey commercial building on Somoye Street in Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos State, causing extensive damage to computer goods worth millions of naira.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, alongside LASEMA responders, arrived promptly and contained the inferno, preventing it from spreading to adjoining structures.

No lives were lost, though a fire service official sustained minor injuries and received first aid at the scene.

LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident, stating that all goods stored in the building were completely destroyed, and the structure was partially compromised.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, while damping-down operations continue to eliminate residual heat.
