ABUJA – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has publicly explained the reason for the arrest and arraignment of Samuel Ojeogwu, the brother of famous Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
According to the police, the arrest followed a formal petition received on October 28, 2025. The petition accused Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, and three others of multiple offences.
The Police Statement
In a statement, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, outlined the charges. They include:
· Criminal conspiracy
· Trespass and assault
· Intimidation and theft
· Cyberbullying
Adeh stated that the suspect failed to honour multiple police invitations. This led to his arrest in Lagos State using a valid court warrant. He was then transferred to Abuja for investigation.
The police charged Ojeogwu to court on November 6, 2025. The court remanded him until he could fulfill his bail conditions.
Family Allegations
Meanwhile, his sister, Regina Daniels, has accused her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of being behind the arrest. In an emotional social media post, the actress alleged an abuse of power and police bias. She hinted that she might consider reconciling with Nwoko to secure her brother’s freedom.
The FCT Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to due process and impartiality as the case proceeds in court.
