Speaking on Thursday at a Christmas engagement with children in Abuja, the First Lady acknowledged the government’s swift response to the kidnappings but emphasized that managing security in a nation of Nigeria’s size demands sustained effort.
“The administration has responded quickly to the incidents, but stressed that managing security in a country of Nigeria’s size required patience and sustained national effort,” Mrs. Tinubu stated.
She noted the enthusiasm of children at the event who expressed interest in joining the military, seeing it as a positive desire among youth to contribute to national security. The First Lady also used the occasion to encourage Nigerians to embrace cultural traditions and practice generosity during the festive season.
