Northern Leaders Urge FG to Replicate Oyo Rescue Operation in Kaduna, Borno, Kwara

Some northern stakeholders have called on the Federal Government to replicate the successful multi-agency rescue operation that secured the release of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State in other states battling insecurity, particularly Kaduna, Borno, and Kwara.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the appeal followed the coordinated security operation that led to the rescue of the victims abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. The operation involved the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Department of State Services (DSS), National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), local vigilantes, hunters, and the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun).

The northern leaders reportedly commended the security agencies for the intelligence-driven operation, describing it as a model that should be adopted in states where kidnappings and terrorist attacks remain a major concern. They stressed that communities in Kaduna, Borno, and Kwara also deserve similar coordinated efforts to secure the release of victims and dismantle criminal networks.

CDA News Nigeria reports that the Federal Government had earlier reaffirmed its commitment to defeating terrorism and rescuing all abducted Nigerians through lawful and intelligence-led operations. Security agencies have continued to intensify operations across several parts of the country in response to the growing security challenges.

The stakeholders expressed hope that sustained collaboration among security agencies and local communities would help restore peace and improve public confidence in the nation’s security architecture.
