An emotional scene unfolded during a thanksgiving service in Oyo State as the husband of a recently rescued school principal broke into joyful dancing to celebrate her safe return from captivity.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the principal, who had been kidnapped by armed men in Oyo State, was rescued through security efforts after days in captivity. Family members, colleagues, church members, and residents gathered for a special thanksgiving service to appreciate God for her release and safe return.
During the service, the principal’s husband could not hide his excitement as he danced before the congregation amid songs of praise and thanksgiving. Worshippers joined in celebrating what many described as a miraculous reunion for the family.
Relatives of the rescued principal expressed gratitude to security agencies, community members, and well-wishers who supported the family during the difficult period. They said the experience had strengthened their faith and renewed their appreciation for the value of life and community support.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the thanksgiving service also served as a moment of reflection on the growing security challenges facing schools and communities in parts of the country. Religious leaders at the event called for continued prayers for peace and safety across Nigeria while urging authorities to intensify efforts to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes.
The rescued principal is said to be receiving medical attention and emotional support as she gradually recovers from the ordeal.
