Governor Otti, Rep Sam Onuigbo Hail Obuohia Obi-Ibere Women at 32nd August Meeting, as Outgoing President Passes Baton

IKWUANO — The 32nd annual August Meeting of the Obuohia Obi-Ibere Development Union Women’s Wing, held at the Community Primary School field in Obuohia Obi-Ibere, Ikwuano LGA, was a landmark event marked by the unveiling of a renovated skills acquisition centre and the peaceful transition of leadership .

CDA News Nigeria gathered that Governor Alex Otti, represented by the Mayor of Ikwuano LGA, Dr. Anthony Nwaubani, commended the outgoing leadership of Pastor Dame Princess Chinyere Onuigbo for the developmental strides recorded, particularly the rehabilitation of the community hall, which is set to serve as a skills acquisition centre . The Governor described women as the pivot for the development of society and enjoined other communities to emulate the Obuohia Obi-Ibere women in initiating projects through their August conferences.

CDA News Nigeria reports that the former member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Sir Sam Onuigbo, recalled the formation of the union over two decades ago and described the Obuohia Obi-Ibere women as pivotal to his political life. He pledged to continue his support to the women and every community development effort .

Presenting her address, the outgoing President, Pastor Dame Princess Onuigbo, who served for 10 years as president and 11 years as coordinator, enumerated various achievements of her administration and passed the baton to the incoming executive. “True leadership is not about holding unto power forever; it is about preparing the ground for the next generation of leaders to thrive,” she stated .

The ceremony featured a presentation of awards to deserving indigenes, including Rt. Hon. Sir Sam Onuigbo.
