Invite Igboho for Questioning Over Oyo School Abduction, Atiku’s Aide Tells DSS

An aide to former Vice President and ADC Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has called on the Department of State Services (DSS) to immediately invite Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho for questioning over his explosive claims that he knows the politicians behind the abduction of students in Oyo State.

The aide, speaking with unmistakable urgency, argued that Igboho’s public declaration that he possesses sensitive information linking certain politicians to the shocking school abduction cannot be treated as mere political commentary — insisting that such a claim carries serious national security implications that demand immediate and thorough investigation by Nigeria’s intelligence community.

“If Sunday Igboho truly knows the politicians behind the Oyo school abduction, then he has a legal and moral obligation to share that information with the appropriate authorities. The DSS must invite him immediately for questioning,” the Atiku aide stated firmly.

The call adds fresh and significant pressure on Nigeria’s security establishment to act decisively on Igboho’s claims, coming from the camp of one of the country’s most prominent opposition figures and adding a powerful political dimension to what is already one of Nigeria’s most emotionally charged national security stories.

Legal experts have backed the position of Atiku’s aide, reiterating that withholding evidence in a criminal matter of this magnitude — particularly one involving the abduction of innocent school children — could expose Igboho to serious legal consequences under Nigerian law.
The DSS is yet to officially respond to the mounting calls for Igboho’s invitation, but sources within the security establishment indicate that intelligence agencies are closely monitoring the activist’s statements and assessing the credibility of his claims.

Civil society groups, parents of abducted students, and concerned Nigerians have equally joined the chorus of voices urging Igboho to immediately present whatever evidence he possesses to security agencies — stressing that the safe return of the abducted students must take absolute priority over any political calculations or personal conditions.

Sunday Igboho is yet to respond publicly to the growing calls for him to submit himself for questioning by the DSS or any other security agency.

As pressure mounts from all sides, the nation watches anxiously — hoping that Igboho’s claims will lead to a breakthrough that brings the abducted Oyo students home safely and exposes the powerful forces allegedly behind one of Nigeria’s most disturbing recent security incidents.
