The Nigeria Police Force has arrested **11 suspected cattle rustlers** and recovered **40 stolen animals** during a security operation in Jigawa State.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the operation formed part of ongoing efforts by the police to curb cattle rustling and other rural crimes across the state.
CDA News gathered from the report that the suspects were apprehended following intelligence-led operations carried out by security personnel in affected communities. The recovered livestock have been secured while investigations continue to identify their rightful owners.
The Jigawa State Police Command said the operation reflects its commitment to protecting lives, property, and the livelihoods of residents, particularly those involved in livestock farming.
Police also urged members of the public to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could help prevent criminal activities and facilitate the arrest of suspects.
The command assured residents that efforts to combat cattle rustling, banditry, and related crimes would continue, while the suspects are expected to face prosecution upon the conclusion of investigations.
