Lagos Police Assure Safety, Warn Against Violent Protests

Lagos – The Lagos State Police Command has assured residents of their safety while issuing a strong warning against any form of violent protest in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, gave the assurance during a “Show of Force” operation in Ikeja, designed to demonstrate the command’s readiness to maintain law and order.

Jimoh stated that adequate deployments have been made to all known protest gathering points, including the Lekki Toll Gate, Ojota, and Maryland. He acknowledged the right to peaceful assembly but emphasized that any protest turning violent would be treated as a criminal act.

“As of the time of this briefing, there have been no reports of unrest, traffic disruption, or violence in any part of the state,” the Commissioner said, confirming that the mentioned areas remain calm.
