In a swift and successful operation, the Nigerian Army has rescued 12 teenage girls who were abducted by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State.
The girls, aged between 15 and 20, were kidnapped on November 23 while working on their family farmlands in the Mussa District of Askira/Uba Local Government Area.
According to a statement from Army Headquarters, troops of Operation HADIN KAI executed an intelligence-led mission, leading to the girls’ freedom on Saturday, November 29.
The military confirmed that the rescued victims have been moved to a secure facility where they are receiving necessary medical care, psychological support, and are being debriefed. They will be formally reunited with their families upon completion of these processes.
The high command praised the troops’ efforts and acknowledged the crucial role of local informants, urging communities to continue providing timely information to aid the fight against terrorism.
