Gov. Alex Otti to Attend Ikwuano’s 70th Anniversary, Launch ₦500m Hall of Fame Project

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, is set to grace the 70th-anniversary celebration of the Ikwuano Development Union-Federated (IDU-F) as Special Guest of Honour.

The Platinum Jubilee event, scheduled for Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Council Hall in Isiala, Ikwuano LGA headquarters, will also feature the launch of a ₦500 million fundraising drive for the construction of an Ikwuano Hall of Fame.

According to the Central Planning Committee Chairman, Dr. Monday Ubani, SAN, the anniversary is a milestone deserving of celebration and thanksgiving.

“IDU-F will use this occasion to unveil the first-ever Ikwuano Hall of Fame and induct distinguished sons and daughters who have brought glory and honour to their community and nation,” Ubani stated.

The President-General of IDU-F, Dr. Charles Uzondu, explained that the Hall of Fame will serve as a permanent headquarters and unity centre, featuring an events centre, library, and other amenities.

“It will honour individuals who have achieved excellence and uplifted the Ikwuano community,” he added.

The event will be chaired by former Minister of State for Science and Technology, Chief Henry Ikoh, with HRH Eze Monday Okoro as Royal Father of the Day.
