AMSTERDAM – Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored a spectacular hat-trick to lead Galatasaray to a 3-0 victory over Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Nigerian international broke the deadlock in the 59th minute with a diving header from Leroy Sané’s cross before converting two second-half penalties to complete his treble.
Osimhen’s triple strike at the Johan Cruijff ArenA brings his Champions League tally to six goals this season, making him the competition’s current top scorer.
The victory marks Galatasaray’s best-ever Champions League start with nine points from four matches, putting the Turkish side firmly in contention for round of 16 qualification.
Ajax remain bottom of the standings after suffering their fourth consecutive defeat in the competition.
