The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted a 13-member National Caretaker Committee to oversee the party’s affairs following the expiration of the current National Working Committee’s tenure.

The decision was ratified during the party’s 104th NEC meeting held in Abuja on Sunday, December 7, 2025. The committee is tasked with steering the PDP for a 60-day period, during which pending congresses must be concluded and a national convention organized.

Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed will serve as Chairman, with Senator Samuel Anyanwu as Secretary. Other members include National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), National Organising Secretary Hon. Umar M. Bature, and several prominent party figures such as Senator Sandy Onor and Dr. Ibrahim Bala Aboki.

The move ensures continuity ahead of the party’s upcoming national convention, expected to elect new substantive leadership.
