Peter Obi’s Move to NDC Not His Final Destination – LP Chieftain, Abayomi

A prominent Labour Party (LP) chieftain, Comrade Abayomi Aribisala, has set the political arena buzzing, declaring that Peter Obi’s move to NDC is not his final destination despite the former LP presidential candidate recently pitching tent with the National Democratic Council (NDC).

Speaking exclusively to CDA News Nigeria on Monday, Abayomi insisted that Obi remains a “political strategist” who is still evaluating options ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

“Let nobody be deceived. Peter Obi joining the NDC is a tactical step, not a permanent home. That is not his final destination. He is building something bigger,” Abayomi said.

The LP chieftain alleged that Obi is currently in talks with several opposition figures to form a “mega coalition” that could include fragments of the LP, NDC, and other dissatisfied parties.

“He will surprise many people before the primaries. The destination is not NDC,” he added.

The NDC leadership has declined to comment on the claim. Peter Obi’s media team also remained silent at the time of filing this report.

Political observers say the statement reflects lingering uncertainty in the opposition space.
