Texas Shooting: Senegalese-Born Gunman in ‘Property of Allah’ Hoodie Kills 3, FBI Probes Iran Link

A mass shooting in Austin, Texas, early Sunday morning has left three people dead—including the shooter—and 14 others injured, with the FBI investigating the incident as a potential act of terrorism linked to the escalating U.S.-Iran conflict .

The gunman, identified as 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Senegal, opened fire outside Buford’s Backyard Beer Garden on West 6th Street around 2 a.m. local time . According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, Diagne drove an SUV around the block multiple times before stopping and firing a pistol through his window at patrons on the bar’s patio and those waiting outside . He then exited his vehicle, armed with a rifle, and continued shooting at pedestrians .

Police officers, already staged nearby due to weekend crowds, arrived within approximately one minute and fatally shot Diagne following a confrontation . Three of the 14 injured victims remain in critical condition .

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is leading the investigation after discovering what acting FBI San Antonio Special Agent Alex Doran described as “indicators on the subject, and in his vehicle, that indicate a potential nexus to terrorism” . Law enforcement officials revealed that Diagne was wearing a hoodie branded “Property of Allah” and an undershirt featuring an Iranian flag . A Quran was also found in his vehicle .

Diagne immigrated to the U.S. in 2000 on a B-2 tourist visa, became a permanent resident in 2006 after marrying an American citizen, and was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 2013 . He had reportedly posted pro-Iranian regime content on social media and expressed hatred toward U.S. and Israeli leadership . Officials also noted he had a history of mental illness .

President Donald Trump has been briefed on the shooting . Texas Governor Greg Abbott warned that anyone using Middle East conflict to threaten Texans would face severe consequences .
