Police Arrest Driver Who Killed Delta Bishop and Fled to Anambra with Stolen SUV

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a domestic driver who allegedly murdered his employer, Bishop Chinedu Clarence James, in Asaba, Delta State.The suspect killed the founder of End-Time Reconciliation Ministries on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Following the murder, the driver stole the cleric’s Toyota Prado SUV and fled to Anambra State to find a buyer.

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, confirmed the breakthrough during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Awka. Operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad tracked and intercepted the fleeing driver in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area.The police arrested the driver alongside his accomplice, who was attempting to help negotiate the illegal sale of the luxury vehicle.

Authorities successfully recovered the stolen vehicle as vital evidence.Preliminary investigations revealed the driver conspired with other fleeing criminal elements to carry out the attack.
