The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Austin Akobundu, has extended a heartfelt Christmas felicitation to Christians, emphasizing the core virtues of thanksgiving, love, and hope.
In his official Christmas message issued today, Senator Akobundu urged the faithful to use the season to thank God for the gift of Jesus Christ, whose birth brought universal joy and hope. He reminded Christians to celebrate while reflecting on the profound lesson of divine sacrifice—the giving of God’s only Son for humanity’s redemption.
“The season is one of joy and thanksgiving to God for His endless love,” Akobundu stated. He encouraged citizens to remain joyful, hopeful for a better tomorrow, and to demonstrate love to all, noting that Christ’s birth signifies man’s restoration to his Creator.
Looking ahead, the Senator expressed prayers that the season would usher in a prosperous New Year. He concluded his message by echoing the biblical exhortation from St. Paul to the Philippians: “Rejoice in the Lord always,” and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
