LAWKA – Professor Chukwuma Soludo has been re-elected as Governor of Anambra State, securing a decisive victory in Saturday’s governorship election. The incumbent, representing the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), won overwhelmingly across the state’s 21 local government areas.
According to the final results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Soludo polled a total of 422,664 votes. His closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), trailed significantly with 99,445 votes. The Returning Officer, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, declared Soludo the winner at the INEC collation center in Awka on Sunday.
The election results showed APGA’s dominance across both urban and rural areas, with Soludo securing particularly strong margins in his home Aguata LGA and other stronghold areas.
