President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) has been formally declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary Election with a stunning 10,999,162 votes, officially returning him as the party’s presidential flagbearer for the 2027 general elections in one of the most emphatic primary victories in Nigeria’s political history.
The Chairman of the APC Presidential Primaries Election Committee, Pius Anyim, announced the results at the collation centre at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, confirming that out of 11,069,756 accredited voters, a total of 11,015,665 cast their votes. President Tinubu received 10,999,162 votes, while his sole challenger, businessman Stanley Osifo of Edo State, polled just 16,503 votes.
Anyim declared: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, having satisfied the requirements of APC constitution and guidelines, and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the presidential primary election, and returned as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general elections.”
The exercise was conducted across 8,809 wards in all 774 local government areas of the country on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with governors serving as collation officers across the states. In Rivers State, Tinubu polled 280,468 votes while Osifo recorded zero votes across all 23 LGAs.
State-by-state results showed impressive tallies including Delta State with 407,646 votes; Benue State, 374,787; Ogun State, 322,485; Kwara State, 310,990; Rivers State, 280,082; Abia State, 161,005; and Edo State, 131,096 — with Osifo recording zero votes in many states.
President Tinubu is expected to receive his Certificate of Return from the APC today, Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Abuja collation centre in a formal ceremony attended by party leaders, governors, and APC stakeholders from across the country.
