LAGOS – A trailer driver lost his life on Wednesday after being trapped inside his vehicle following a collision on the Otedola Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed that the accident involved a container-laden truck and another heavy-duty vehicle, which left the driver fatally pinned.
Emergency responders, including the Lagos State Fire Service and LASEMA, worked for hours to extricate the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident caused significant traffic disruption along the expressway. LASTMA has advised motorists to use alternative routes while cleanup and investigation proceed.
