Umuariaga Union Sets April 6 for Presidential Election

IKWUANO, ABIA STATE – The Umuariaga Community Development Union (UCDU) has released its official electoral timetable, setting April 6, 2026, as the date for the presidential election to determine the union’s next President General.

According to the timetable issued by the Electoral Committee, the screening results were published on March 27, with qualified candidates displayed at designated public places and circulated through official channels.

A stakeholders and candidates meeting is scheduled for March 28, where cleared candidates will be briefed on election guidelines, campaign rules, and the signing of a peace accord.

The campaign period will run from April 3 to April 4, with the committee emphasizing that campaigns must be peaceful and issue-based. Defamation, inducement, and violence are strictly prohibited.

Election Day activities on April 6 will include accreditation of eligible voters, voting, immediate counting of votes, public announcement of results, and official declaration of winners.

No official activities are scheduled for Good Friday (April 3) and Easter Sunday (April 5).

The Electoral Committee urged all candidates and community members to adhere to the guidelines for a peaceful and credible electoral process.
