Wike Grants Land Titles, Fee Waivers to FCT Traditional Ruler

ABUJA, NIGERIA – The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has granted land titles and fee waivers to a traditional ruler in the FCT, as part of efforts to strengthen the role of traditional institutions in the nation’s capital.

During a ceremony in Abuja, Wike presented the Certificates of Occupancy to the traditional ruler, waiving all associated fees in recognition of the monarch’s contributions to community development, peace, and security in his domain.

“The traditional institution remains a critical pillar of governance. This gesture is to appreciate your role in maintaining peace and supporting government policies,” Wike stated.

The Minister also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that traditional rulers in the FCT are accorded the respect and support they deserve, including securing legal titles to their ancestral lands.

The traditional ruler expressed gratitude to the FCT Administration, pledging continued support for government programs and initiatives aimed at developing the territory.

The move is part of a broader policy by the Wike-led FCTA to formalize land ownership for traditional institutions and streamline land administration across the Federal Capital Territory.
