Gunmen on Tuesday killed the District Head of Gwande in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State, Saf Samuel Alaket, in an ambush attack along the Sha District axis bordering the Daffo community. The incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. while the traditional ruler was returning home after attending a traditional council meeting in Bokkos .

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total sum of N2.3 trillion to the Federal, States and Local Government Councils for the month of May 2026. Mr Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations in the OAGF, revealed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja .
