The Ebonyi State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports alleging that it has thrown its support behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, ahead of the 2027 elections.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the party described the claim as false, misleading, and the handiwork of individuals seeking to create confusion among its members and the electorate.
In a statement, the NDC maintained that it had not entered into any alliance or agreement with the PDP or any other political party regarding the 2027 governorship election in Ebonyi State.
The party urged its supporters to disregard the speculation, insisting that its leadership would communicate any official political decisions through the appropriate channels.
The NDC also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its structures across the state and preparing for the 2027 elections independently.
The clarification comes amid increasing political realignments and speculation as parties intensify consultations ahead of the next general elections.
