APC Stakeholders Endorse Yilwatda, Urge Tinubu to Retain Zoning

ABUJA – Key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the North Central geopolitical zone have unanimously endorsed Senator Joshua Yilwatda as their preferred candidate for the party’s forthcoming national chairmanship position.

Rising from a closed-door meeting in Abuja on Thursday, the group also called on President Bola Tinubu and the National Executive Committee (NEC) to retain the party’s existing zoning formula, which traditionally allocates the chairmanship position to the North Central.

The stakeholders argued that maintaining the current zoning arrangement is crucial for equity, stability, and reward for the zone’s electoral contributions to the party’s success in the last general elections.

Senator Yilwatda, a former Plateau State gubernatorial candidate, is seen as a unifying figure with widespread grassroots appeal across the region.
