Labour Party Announces Congresses, Convention for March

Abia State Governor and Labour Party leader, Alex Otti, has announced that the party will conduct its congresses and national convention in March 2026.

Otti disclosed during a press briefing that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been formally notified, and a committee has been set up for member revalidation and registration of new members.

He expressed regret over the exit of former presidential candidate Peter Obi and some National Assembly members but affirmed the party’s commitment to rebuilding and emerging stronger. Otti also revealed that the party will not participate in the upcoming FCT area council elections due to time constraints.

The briefing was attended by key party figures, including Caretaker Committee Chairman Senator Nenadi Usman and Senator Darlington Nwokocha.
