Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, the member representing Obingwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) .
The lawmaker’s defection was announced in a breaking development that further strengthens the opposition party’s presence in the Abia Assembly .
Erondu Jnr, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), becomes the latest legislator to cross over to the APC in what political observers describe as a significant realignment ahead of future elections in the state .
Sources close to the lawmaker indicate that his decision to join the APC was influenced by the progressive vision and inclusive leadership of the party at both state and national levels .
The defection is expected to boost APC’s legislative strength in the Abia Assembly and enhance the party’s positioning for subsequent electoral contests in the state.
Erondu Jnr’s move follows a pattern of political realignments in Abia State, with several lawmakers and stakeholders recently declaring allegiance to the APC under the #Ako_Enyimba political movement .
