Critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State on Thursday held a crucial meeting with the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, with the lingering issues surrounding the postponed state congresses reportedly resolved .
The meeting, which commenced around 2:00 p.m. and concluded by 6:00 p.m., brought together the who-is-who of Abia APC, including Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, CFR;Senator Orji Kalu, former Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, CON (fondly called Mama APC); former Senator Chris Adighije (Papa APC); and Senator Bob Nwannunu .
Also in attendance were former House of Representatives members Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, Rt. Hon. Chris Nkwonta, Rt. Hon. Uzor Azubuike, Rt. Hon. Bishop Kennedy Njoku, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa, and newly defected Hon. Erondu Jnr .
Other prominent stakeholders present included Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, former House of Representatives member Rt. Hon. Sam Onuigbo, Rt. Hon. Stanley Ohajuruka, and Hon. Emmanuel Ndubuisi .
CDA News Nigeria reports that the meeting was successful and that issues surrounding the postponed Abia State APC congresses have been resolved .
The stakeholders expressed optimism that a new date for the conduct of the ward, local government, and state congresses would be announced soon, allowing the party to move forward unitedly .
The resolution of the congress postponement is expected to strengthen the party’s position in Abia State ahead of future elections .
