WIKE’S CAMP ACCUSES GOV-BACKED PDP OF PLOT TO SABOTAGE CONVENTION

PORT HARCOURT, NIGERIA – The camp of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has accused a governor-backed faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of orchestrating a plot to sabotage the party’s upcoming national convention.

In a strongly worded statement issued in Port Harcourt, Wike’s loyalists alleged that certain governors, working in concert with some members of the National Working Committee, are scheming to manipulate the convention process to sideline the minister and his allies.

“They are desperate to hijack the party machinery and impose a predetermined outcome. We will not fold our arms and watch them destroy the PDP,” a spokesperson for the faction declared.

The camp insisted that the convention must be open, transparent, and reflect the will of ordinary party members, warning that any attempt to manipulate the process would be met with fierce resistance.

The rift marks the latest chapter in the ongoing power struggle within the opposition party. The PDP National Secretariat has yet to respond to the allegations, as party leaders scramble to avert a full-blown crisis ahead of the crucial gathering.
