JALINGO, NIGERIA – Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has commenced the distribution of food aid donated by the Aliko Dangote Foundation to vulnerable residents across the state, providing relief amid rising economic hardship.

The governor flagged off the exercise in Jalingo, the state capital, where thousands of households received bags of rice and other essential food items. The intervention, facilitated by the Dangote Foundation, is part of the organization’s nationwide humanitarian outreach aimed at cushioning the effects of the current economic realities.

Governor Kefas commended the business mogul for his sustained commitment to philanthropy, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. He assured residents that his administration would ensure the items reach the intended beneficiaries through a transparent and equitable distribution process.

“This is a welcome relief for our people. We will ensure that no political or ethnic considerations influence who gets these palliatives,” Kefas stated.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the governor and the Dangote Foundation, with many noting that the assistance would ease the burden on their households. Distribution is set to continue across the 16 local government areas of the state in the coming days.
