ABUJA, NIGERIA – The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has charged Nigerian youths to step into leadership roles, describing the City Boy Movement as a strategic platform for grooming capable young leaders.
Kalu made the call on Tuesday while receiving members of the Abia State chapter of the movement, led by State Director Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, on a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.
The Deputy Speaker highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s deliberate efforts to engage and empower the youth demographic, pointing to the appointment of young Nigerians into key positions as evidence of the administration’s commitment.
“Leadership is not entrusted to spectators, but to those who are prepared and willing to step forward,” Kalu stated.
He commended Barr. Seyi Tinubu for inspiring the inclusive movement, which he said goes beyond politics to identify and groom capable young Nigerians. Kalu also acknowledged the role of Renewed Hope Partners in mobilizing support for the APC in Abia State.
“We will strengthen our partnership with the City Boys Movement to ensure our collective goals for 2027 are realized,” he assured the delegation.
The Abia delegation included Mr. Okechukwu Gberemakor (Total Chairman), Dr. Chibudom Jephthah Chigozirim (CEO Jeff Exchange), and Mr. Charles Ukeagu.
