Amotekun Rescues Three Nurses Abducted at Ondo PHC

AKURE, ONDO STATE – Operatives of the Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun, have rescued three nurses who were abducted from a Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Ondo State.

The nurses were reportedly kidnapped by gunmen who attacked the health facility in the Ose Local Government Area on Friday night. The assailants had stormed the PHC, shooting sporadically before whisking the victims away to an unknown destination.

Amotekun operatives, in collaboration with local vigilantes, tracked the kidnappers to a forested area and engaged them in a gun battle, forcing them to abandon the victims and flee.

“Our men moved swiftly. The victims have been rescued unharmed and are now receiving medical attention,” a spokesperson for Amotekun said.

The rescued nurses have since been reunited with their families. The state government commended the security network for its prompt response and vowed to intensify efforts to protect health workers and public facilities.

The Ondo State Police Command also confirmed the rescue and assured that operations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
