Fire Razes Six-Room Building in Kwara

ILORIN, KWARA STATE – A midnight fire has razed a six-room building in Ilorin, Kwara State, destroying properties worth millions of naira, the State Fire Service has confirmed.

The fire, which started in the early hours of Sunday, engulfed the building located in the Oko Erin area of the state capital. Firefighters battled for over an hour to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.

According to the Kwara State Fire Service, preliminary investigations suggest the fire was caused by an electrical spark from a faulty wiring system. No casualties were reported.

“Our men responded swiftly to the distress call. The fire was contained, but the building was severely damaged,” a fire service official stated.

Residents of the area gathered at the scene to sympathize with the affected family. The state government has promised to investigate the incident and provide support to those affected.

The fire service reiterated its call for residents to ensure proper electrical installations and avoid leaving appliances running unattended to prevent fire outbreaks.
